Note:  see Canada’s Food Guide (CFG) for serving sizes by visiting www.healthcanada.gc.ca/foodguide

Furthermore, CFG recommends that all should eat at least one dark green and one orange vegetable each day.  We offer many varieties of dark, leafy greens such as fresh spinach, swiss chard, kale and  lettuces, and many choices of carrots.

Canada’s Food Guide states that following the recommendations helps:

  • ·        Meet the needs for vitamins, minerals and other nutrients

  • ·        Reduce the risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain types of cancer and osteoporosis

  • ·        Contribute to overall health and vitality

For specific Nutrition Facts and Nutrition Labels on the vegetables we grow, visit www.vhqfoods.ca.  They provide information on nutrition, links to reliable health sites and links regarding foods that relate to illness and diseases.

Eat Healthy for life!
